Who we are
Chris and Christine Hicks (Woodchicks) are nearing retirement from IT and teaching, and have started this as a part time hobby/small business. Chris has a lifetime love of woodwork, starting by making table lamps and chessboards at school. Christine has always created from leather and wool.

How it began
An old bungalow was being demolished and the builders were going to burn the timber. Chris spotted the roof beams were pitch pine and the window frames were mahogany; the workmen were delighted for us to take some away.
Cleaning and sanding the wood revealed beautiful and interesting grain patterns and the idea was born — to craft small objects from reclaimed timber.
